  • What is Short Term training?

    The Short Term Training imparted at PMKVY Training Centres (TCs) is expected to benefit candidates of Indian nationality who are either school/college dropouts or unemployed. Apart from providing training according to the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF), TCs shall also impart training in Soft Skills, Entrepreneurship, Financial and Digital Literacy. Duration of the training varies per job role, ranging between 150 and 300 hours. Further,Short Term Training (STT) component under Centrally Sponsored Centrally Managed(CSCM)is being implemented through National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

  • Who are the target beneficiaries under STT CSCM component PMKVY 2016-2020?

    In line with the objectives stated above, this Scheme is applicable to any candidate of Indian nationality who:

    • Is an unemployed youth or, school/college dropouts,
    • Possesses an Aadhaar card (for candidates from Aadhar region only)  and a bank account,
    • Has a verifiable alternate ID such as PAN or Voter ID (applicable only for the states of North-East region and J&K - Additional IDs may be added from time to time)
    • Any other criteria, as defined by the SSCs for the respective job roles.

    College students should not be allowed or enrolled under PMKVY as the Scheme focuses on school/college dropouts. Additionally, in case of corporates or factory premises, candidates cannot be their own employees or daily wagers.

     

  • How can a trainee enrol for course under STT CSCM component PMKVY 2016-20 ?

    Interested candidates can find the list of operational training Centres List from “Find a Traning Center” tab in www.pmkvyofficial.org website. The contact details of Training Provider and Training Centres are mentioned therein. The Candidates can further contact the TCs and register for the choice of their course. 

  • How can a Training Provider participate in STT CSCM component of PMKVY 2016-2020 ?

  • How do Training Centres conduct mobilisation activities under STT CSCM PMKVY 2016-2020 ?

    Training Centres shall conduct various outreach campaigns across the districts in which they are located. The out-reach campaign may comprise a combination of door-to-door visits, mobile vans, and interaction with community-based groups and local leadership and should target school drop-outs and undergraduate college drop-outs. Kaushal Melas should be conducted in coordination with state/local representatives at least once every six months, in accordance with the Kaushal and Rozgar Mela Guidelines.

     

    Qualification pack is a set of NOS’s (National Occupation Standards), aligned to a job role, called Qualification Packs (QPs), would be available for every job role in each industry sector.

  • Whether Franchisee Centres are allowed under PMKVY 2016-2020 ?

    Currently,targets are not allocated to Franchise centres, only TP Owned centres are considered for target allocation under STT CSCM component of PMKVY 2016-20.
